Nami and Olgert’s wedding at Il Paese in Tirana was exactly that.

Their day moved effortlessly between elegant portraits, intimate family moments and a celebration full of personality. From the character-filled interiors of the getting ready to their emotional first look, the ceremony beneath the trees and the energy of the evening, every part of the day felt connected.

The preparations began inside Il Paese, where rich wood, velvet, patterned walls and beautiful architectural details created a completely different atmosphere from the gardens outside. Rather than simplifying those surroundings, I wanted to use their character as part of the photographs.

The staircase, warm tones and dramatic interiors gave us the opportunity to create portraits with a slightly more editorial feeling, while still leaving space for all the spontaneous moments happening naturally around Nami and Olgert. Some photographs were carefully composed; others simply happened. That balance between direction and observation became an important part of the visual story of their day.

One of the most emotional moments came during their first look.

Away from the guests and the movement of the wedding, Nami and Olgert had a few quiet minutes together before the ceremony. The emotion was immediate. Seeing Olgert for the first time brought Nami to tears, turning what could have been a simple portrait moment into something much more personal and genuine.

And the emotion returned only a little later.

As Nami walked into the outdoor ceremony, surrounded by their families and closest friends, she became emotional once again. There was no need to create anything for the camera, everything was already there. The expressions, the anticipation, the way Olgert looked at her and the reactions of the people around them told the story naturally.

Set beneath the trees and surrounded by greenery, the ceremony had an intimate and timeless atmosphere. The soft natural light, the long veil, the guests gathered closely around them and the quiet moments between Nami and Olgert created some of my favorite photographs of the entire day.

After the ceremony, the pace changed.

We wandered through the property for portraits, allowing the architecture and gardens of Il Paese to become part of the photographs without overpowering the couple. I wanted these images to feel elegant but never overly posed, photographs with a sense of composition and intention, while still feeling unmistakably like them.

As daylight disappeared, the celebration took on another personality.

The softness of the ceremony gave way to movement, music and a completely different kind of energy. Flash, deeper tones and the atmosphere of the evening allowed the photographs to become bolder and more dynamic, while the quieter interactions between family and friends continued to tell the story in between.

What I loved most about Nami and Olgert’s wedding was exactly this contrast.

It was elegant without feeling formal. Emotional without needing to be staged. Editorial in certain moments and completely spontaneous in others.

A wedding filled with beautiful details, certainly, but ultimately remembered through something much more important: the people, the atmosphere and the way it felt to be there.
